Dr David Fackrell

Dr David Fackrell is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of prostate, bladder and kidney cancers, as well as cancers of the oesophagus and stomach.

  • David qualified in Medicine from the University of Warwick in 2006, having previously completed a degree in Genetics at the University of Liverpool.
  • He was appointed as a consultant at University Hospitals Birmingham in 2017 and is actively involved in both clinical research and medical education.
  • David has particular expertise in prostate cancer and is committed to delivering evidence-based, personalised treatment. He believes strongly in clear communication and shared decision-making, ensuring that patients feel fully informed and supported throughout their care.
  • David is also a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.
  • In addition to his clinical work, he holds national roles within the Royal College of Radiologists. He is an interviewer for specialty recruitment, West Midlands Trainee Lead and a member of the Clinical Oncology Recruitment Committee, contributing to the training and selection of future oncologists.
  • Outside work, David enjoys family life and is a keen cyclist and sports fan, with an interest in football, cricket and rugby, reflecting his belief in the importance of balance, resilience and teamwork.
