Dr Paul Crowe
Dr Paul Crowe is a highly regarded Consultant Interventional Radiologist in full-time private practice, based in both Birmingham and London.
- Paul specialises in urological and vascular diagnostic radiology, performing ultrasound, CT and MRI scans, including multi-parametric MRI of the prostate.
- He undertakes many specialised interventional radiology procedures, including prostate embolisation, testicular varicocele embolisation and embolisation of uterine fibroids, adenomyosis and pelvic congestion syndrome in women.
- After graduating from Trinity College Medical School, Dublin in 1988, Paul went on to complete five years of specialist radiology and interventional radiology training.
- He then joined Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, where he was a consultant for 27 years, leading the interventional radiology service.
- Paul has served in roles in national societies, including the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR), as well as advisory roles in the private health sector.
- With extensive experience in both the NHS and the private sector, Paul has influenced interventional radiology practice and established new services.
- He was one of the pioneers of uterine fibroid embolisation in the UK and has now performed over 7,000 cases. He recognises the value of multidisciplinary team working and the benefits of a patient-centred clinic that can offer the full range of treatment options.
